With the extremely hot summer finally over, the day was perfect for enjoying the charms of the ancient Samurai capital of Kamakura. We left Shonan International Village by bus. On the way to Engakuji Temple, a KSGG member related to the visitors KSGG’s activities, as well as the geography and history of Kamakura and the Miura Peninsula in general. He also drew attention to the scenes we passed by. On the other hand, I gave a talk on Shinto, Zen Buddhism and the story associated with the Miura Peninsula and Gulliver’s Travels. The participants were divided into two groups for the visit to Engakuji Temple, but due to the limited time we didn’t manage to see everything. We then proceeded on to Kenchoji Temple, and finally to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The visit to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine was not the first time for a few of the visitors, who understandably went their own way. We took those who wanted to follow the tour to Komachidori, a well-known shopping street. Our guests listened attentively asking lots of questions, which made the Kamakura tour more meaningful.
