1) Sugimotodera Temple
Renowned for its moss-covered stone steps, Sugimoto-dera was originally built in 734. A trio of Eleven-faced Kannon Statues are National and City Important Cultural Assets. (Admission fee: 300yen)
2) Hokokuji Temple (Bamboo Temple)
Widely known as “Bamboo Temple,” this Zen temple was founded in 1334, and is famous for its dense, peaceful cluster of over 2000 bamboo trees. At the teahouse, visitors can indulge in a cup of matcha green tea amidst the soothing sounds of these beautiful trees.

3) Jomyoji Temple
Founded in 1188, this Zen temple is designated as a National Historic Site. Visitors can enjoy a cup of matcha green tea with the view of a Zen-style sand and rock garden. (Admission fee: 100yen, Matcha green tea: 600yen)
4) Ichijo Ekan Sanso “Mountain Retreat”
This teahouse, built 400 years ago in the Edo period for the Imperial family of the Ichijo, was carefully relocated from Kyoto, and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. After visiting the teahouse, guests can enjoy a contemplative stroll along the pristine waters of the Nameri River.

5) Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine
Built as a tutelary shrine for the Genji family in 1180, this is the most gorgeous shrine in Kamakura attracting millions of visitors for its history, culture, architecture and various traditional events.
