This was the second event for participants staying in JICA Yokohama to wear kimono and have their photos taken. Some of our members prepared for the event at the Japanese room in JICA two days before. We had everything to dress in kimono and hung 11 sets of kimono and obi (sash) on the wall. The room just like a picture scroll was so gorgeous. After we started the event at 2:00 pm, we finished dressing them one after another. They enjoyed taking photos of each other. They looked nice in kimono in a group photo though they are not Japanese. I was so impressed to see them behave nicely in kimono. I felt happy to join this event seeing them enjoy wearing kimono to the full and taking photos with Hina Dolls as well as on the sidewalk in front of the building. I was surprised to find that kimono was so popular among international people as I joined this event for the first time. This was a good chance for me to see our traditional costume, kimono, in a new light.
